My Vision

The Domestic Relations Court serves families at pivotal moments in their lives. The decisions made there affect people who have built a life together. Families deserve a court that is fair, accessible, compassionate, and efficient.
As Judge, I will work to ensure that people are heard, cases move forward in a timely manner, and families are not left waiting indefinitely for answers. Too often, delays leave people’s lives on hold. I understand how to manage a high-volume docket while ensuring each case receives the attention it deserves.
I also believe access to justice should not depend on someone's income or work schedule. Working families face real barriers when seeking help through the court system. From the cost of legal representation to the inability to miss work for court appearances, many people struggle to access the justice they deserve.
That's why I support straightforward reforms that make the court more accessible. These include things like expanded virtual hearing options, assistance programs for people representing themselves in court, greater community education about legal rights and resources, encouragement of pro bono legal services, and exploring flexible scheduling options that better serve working people.
My vision is a court that reflects the values of Lucas County: fairness, respect, accountability, and compassion.
As someone who has spent a lifetime serving this community, I understand the challenges facing working families because I've lived alongside them. I believe those of us entrusted with serving the public inside the courtroom have an equal responsibility to remain connected to the community outside of it.
As your Judge, I will bring decades of healthcare experience, judicial experience, and a deep commitment to public service to every case. Most importantly, I will never forget that behind every case file is a family, a story, and people whose lives matter.
